January 4th approaches

As a reminder, SyFy will show the remaining five Caprica episodes on January 4th starting at 6:00 PM. This will be the last chance to see our faves in Caprica on the "broadcast" TV slate.  However, as a reminder, you can see it at home as much as you want by purchasing Caprica: Season 1.5 on DVD

What the heck is this, Alessandra?

So, yeah, we're late to the party, but Caprica's final five episodes will air on January 4th, 2011 in back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back fashion. It's not reat, but at least it's an ending.

In the meantime though, you can check out Alessandra Torresani's new YouTube channel which contains some ... um ... well, we're not eusre what to call it exactly. Girls dancing and signing to music. It's like karaoke on crack.

 

It's not the end of the world as we know it

As you've probably already read elsewhere, SyFy has canceled Caprica and pulled the rest of the run (for now). With luck we'll see the remainder of the season in early 2011. If you're looking for some insight on to what went wrong, you can read some speculation here.

But, for us, is this the end? No, not at all. Paula Malcomson seems to be popping up everywhere (did you see her on The Event on Monday?). Alessandra Torresani is in the upcoming film Playback. Magda Apanowicz is shooting some new projects. Polly Walker is doing movies. And Lucinna Carro is hitting the convention circuit. So while this group of excellent actresses continues their career we'll be here to follow them. We thank you all for your continued support.

 

It's your choice...it's the people's choice!

While we patiently await the next installment of Caprica, it's time to do our part again. This time it's up to us to vote for Caprica for a People's Choice award as your favorite sci-fi/fantasy show. If you want to see more of Alessandra, Magda, Polly, Luciana, Genevieve and Paula, it would really help if the show gains some recognition, and this would be a good start. So do your part!    

Fan event, new clip, and more

So if you're not doing anything this weekend, you can try to attend the Caprica premier event at Universal Studios in LA. Earlier today, Alessandra Torresani tweeted that she'd attend and wear something sexy, so I'm not sure why you're still here and not getting tickets. You can also find out more about the event here.

Caprica back early, season 1.5 to premier in October!

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, SyFy has announced that Caprica Season #1.5 will premier on October 5th at 8:00. SyFy comments as follows:

“Though we initially announced the January return of Caprica, we still had hopes of finding a way to get the series back on the air sooner,” said Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions. “We’ve been able to successfully re-work our schedule, and are thrilled to bring the show back during what is traditionally Syfy’s most-watched time of the year. The outcome should also please fans who expressed their wishes for a shorter mid-season hiatus.”

Who knows what this means for the future, but it can't be bad. And it's never bad to get to see our favorite women on screen sooner. Mark the date on your calendar.

Caprica NOT canceled!

There's a rumor floating around that SyFy declined a second season of Caprica, but right from the source, Alessandra Torresani says the show is not canceled. I almost hate to do it, but I do feel like there should be a "yet" somewhere in this statement. But the reality is that with contract extensions, SyFy now has until November to make a decision

Caprica Season 1.5 Preview

Rumors of a 2nd season surface

It's still rumor season, but Airlock Alpha is reporting that Caprica will get a 2nd season. We'll see if this becomes official soon even if it is for a short season (10-13 episodes) as predicted.
