Caprica NOT canceled!

There's a rumor floating around that SyFy declined a second season of Caprica, but right from the source, Alessandra Torresani says the show is not canceled. I almost hate to do it, but I do feel like there should be a "yet" somewhere in this statement. But the reality is that with contract extensions, SyFy now has until November to make a decision

Alpha Waves radio has posted their 8/26/2010 podcast from the set of "Judas Kiss" which features Genevieve Buechner. The interview begins about 31 minutes into the podcast. As a reminder, "Judas Kiss" is an independent sci-fi movie that has recently started production.

Playback to start filming

We always like to see when our favorites have other projects going on, and therefore it's great to see Variety reporting that "Playback" will begin filming soon and that Alessandra Torresani will play a role. But we do wonder what this means for the future of Caprica with so many stars taking other parts.

We mentioned it last time, but Alessandra Torresani is now officially EW's sci-fi hottie of the year. Even though the results were already in, the interview is nice.

Alessandra Torresani extravaganza

So we here at Women of Caprica have been on vacation the last week, and though we posted a couple updates, there have been some important happenings. First off, let's catch up on Alessandra Torresani.

As we previously mentioned, EW.com was running a poll as to the sexiest sci-fi hottie of 2010. Well, with over 69% of the vote, Alessandra won in a landslide. So congratulations on that.

Next up, back on August 7th, she attended the Blackberry BBM Party at Siren Studio. The link is to some cute photos. There was another party on the 11th, the Torch launch event, which produced this black mesh number.

And then lastly, Tyler Shields, who we've mentioned before has released a new collection of photos titled "Love is Forever" starring a wide cast including Alessandra Torresani. It's worth looking at the whole collection, but here's a preview:

Disney sets March 9, 2012 release date for "John Carter of Mars"

As we previously reported, Polly Walker will star in this movie based on a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Disney has now set March 9, 2012 as the release date.
